Kitchen Garden Walk

This complimentary interactive tour will focus on all the key elements that lead to the creation of a sustainable and productive garden here at the Ashford Estate. Two of our gardeners, Alex and Niamh, will showcase the produce that start life in our gardens before being picked fresh for our seasonal menus, which you will enjoy during your stay with us.

Itinerary

Guests will hear about our vegetables and edible flowers, the importance of composting, our no dig, no chemicals organic policy, how to produce a healthy crop and the biodiversity of the area.
Guests will learn about the role sustainability plays in the functioning and the future of the estate. All restaurants on the Ashford estate use local and organic food produce where possible and our chefs work closely with almost 30 local food suppliers and source home grown produce from our own gardens and polytunnels.
After the experience you will be guided back to The Lodge at Ashford Castle through the walled garden by Alex or Niamh.

This one-hour complimentary tour of the Ashford Estate Kitchen Garden will take place at 10 a.m. every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from June to Mid-October and is open to guests of both The Castle and The Lodge.
If weather is inclement, fear not as we have umbrellas available in each hotel for their guests.
